Gabon Ameriques Youth Exchange Program: GNUSXP

As our planet and the countries within, become more interdependent, it becomes dramatically  important that young people develop a sense of global citizenship. GABON-AMERIQUES provides a unique opportunity to do so by allowing students to  experience the uniqueness of both US and Gabonese cultures. Youth who choose to participate in the GNUSxP, in a sense are ambassadors representing how others will perceive their home countries. Through GNUSxP, students learn about the lifestyle and culture of people living in other countries. They develop long-lasting bonds with their host families and friends. The experience may also allow students to improve their ability to speak another language. The effect of such intense language immersion can seldom be produced in one’s home country. Many students find an exchange experience to be meaningful start to the way that they pursue international careers.

 

• All Participants in the program are supported by a network of area coordinators in the United States and Gabon. All school programs and host families are supervised during the  program by GNUS.

 

• GNUSxP Is for highly motivated Gabonese and American of age who desire to increase their global view and international experience, personal growth and enrichment, as well as enhance their cultural and educational experience . Through youth have a chance to experience another culture, language, and heritage deepening your perspective and understanding of the world first hand.

 

• Students accepted to the Exchange program are hosted by native U.S  or Gabonese , from 1 week to 1 monthWhere they will participate in extracurricular and community activities. This program provides international students the unique opportunity to learn about Gabon’s and America’s society and culture as a member of a host family. In this Exchange program, youths will share their culture with their host families, classmates and friends in school, and neighbors and friends in the local community. Besides rich cultural and educational experience, also complete a Volunteer Project while in the program, which enhances their engagement with Gabonese and American society.

GNUSxHF Host Family Participant

Host an exchange student and the world comes to you! Hosting an international student is a wonderful opportunity to share your culture with a student from another country, and to experience international culture without leaving home.

Opening your home to a  GNUSxP exchange participant is a step you can take to experience cultures. Becoming  a host family will also greatly benefits future generations. Open your heart and be part of the opening of the new world. GNUSxP Host Families provide room and board for GNUSxP high school exchange students, and treat the student as a member of the family. GNUSxP students pay all of their own fees to cover flights, insurance and spending money.

 

 

Requirements:

Provide a warm and loving home with full room and board. (A room can be shared with a sibling of similar age and gender)

Provide meals

Local transportation (youths are not permitted to drive during the program)

Treat the student as a member of the family, which may include household rules and responsibilities

 

Show love and care with an open heart. Enjoy the enriching experience of becoming a volunteer host family
